I was extremely disappointed when I went to get the student discount my son should have gotten going to college on my bill. I went in and they said that because I was a teacher getting the teacher discount I couldn’t get the student discount on bill also. That is wrong. My son is a student and I am a teacher. I should be able to get all discounts that apply to those particular situations. They wouldn’t give me both. Disappointing!!

Hello, B77. Help is here as we definitely want to provide some insight in this matter. With most discounts, not all, you cannot stack the teacher's discount with another. We always want to see you receive the best discount and savings on your account but with the teacher's discount, you cannot stack it with another. Please see the link below for our Teacher's Discount FAQs.

Yes, that's frustrating, but it is what it is. At least you're not one of the customers who got a discount changed and the new "discount" ended up being worse than the previous discount, and there's no way to go back (yes, I've read about this happening, and more than once). I'm guessing you have your son's line and your line bundled together in one account, so you would be getting a multi-line discount and not paying the single line rate per line? In which case, you are getting a price break from that. About the only way to really go cheaper is to switch to prepaid service or else use one of the budget carriers.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
