I received today an email that my bill was past due. I made a new payment even though I thought it was paid already. When I checked, the payment made on the 24th was processing. Now I submitted a second payment unnecessarily thanks to your notification.

Call your bank or credit card issuer and do a charge back/ reversal the bank will see the double hit and will refund the second one.
credit card companies will give the amount back almost instantly. But a bank or credit union will take a little longer.
