Equipment returned, still charged

My mom was on our phone plan and decided to try Verizon home internet back in October of 2024, only to find a better deal and cancel all together within the same 30 days of signing up. She returned the equipment that was sent to her and I received an email from Verizon on 11/14/2024 stating the equipment has been received by them and that there are no additional actions needed.
Fast forward to MARCH of 2025, Verizon added an additional $200 to our bill for this โunreturned equipmentโ with no notice or anything, just decided to charge us for equipment that was already returned after acknowledging they received it.
I call Verizon when I see the charge come out of our bank account and after an hour of going back and forth with customer service, the agent finally understood what I was explaining and told me a refund was on its way and it would take five business days. GUESS WHAT NEVER CAME.
I call Verizon about two weeks later (I was giving the benefit of the doubt and gave the refund some extra time but it never came). I spoke to a representative and had to re explain the whole situation, to which they again acknowledged that this was an error and that since too long of a time frame has passed, they can refund me by giving a $200 discount on my next billโฆ fine. I agreed. Whatever.
Itโs been two billing cycles since then. GUESS WHAT NEVER CAME. No credit was applied to our bill and we are still out $200 that they had no right to charge.
I am going to end up contacting the department of consumer affairs and the BBB at this point. This is ridiculous.
