Erroneous charges

Verizon was taking recurring payments from my credit card years after the verizon account was canceled. The service was for my 90 year old mother apartment. I should be refunded for every auto payment after June 2021.

I did everything right but notice I was still being charged. There was two Verizon accounts in my name and both were set up with auto payments. I canceled the account in June 2021 conf number NJ 11667020531. The apartment was vacated. And I returned the equipment to the West Orange, NJ Verizon store.

Unbeknownst to me Verizon kept taking my money until March 2023  when Verizon (not me) just stopped the auto charges on my credit card and in July 2023 they stopped charging. I’m being told they stopped due to inactivity. But, the account was already inactive for two years!!!

I found out I had been erroneously charged when the bill collector contacted me on July 16, 2024, ONE YEAR later after the auto cancel!

I want a refund, not a credit. My mother is over 90 years old.

We are deeply concerned to learn about your experience and we certainly want to investigate the charges and the former account further. We will be reaching out to you through Private Message to gather some additional details.

  • How long before customer service contacts me to gather more information.  Or, are the able to start the investing without contacting me?

No  my issue has not been addressed yet.  I’m handling it another way because I don’t have time to bounce around ie get transferred  to another departments at Verizon only to be told after like 30 minutes of talk, sorry we don’t handle that here you have to talk to …. I’ll transfer you because we don’t talk to each other.
