In November of 2022 I purchased 2 phones and a home internet box. Within 14 days I shipped both phones back to Verizon and returned the Home Internet Box in person to the Serramonte Center in Daly City, CA. Within a few days of mailing the equipment back I was given a full refund for my account.
Yet a month later I was told that I owed Verizon for the equipment that they already refunded me for. I contacted customer service only to be told it was a system error and there was nothing to worry about. I was told to ignore it only for Verizon to send my account to collections and refuse to speak to me anymore because “The account is no longer with them and only the collection agency can help”.
After disputing the debt with the initial collection agency, the debt was returned to Verizon. Only for the debt to be sent to a different collection agency called Sequium. I would love for Verizon to rectify this because at this point my payment history and credit are still being affected. I will pursue all legal avenues to have this debt removed for I won’t be bullied into paying for something I don’t owe. Any tips or recommendations on what helped you solve this would be appreciated.
