Fios Billing

Background:

My previous bill: $236.95 includes 75/75 internet, extreme TV, home phone

Several channels I like were removed from extreme TV so I kept checking the Fios website to see what the prices would be if I changed my channel package. The only choice to get the channels back was Ultimate TV.

On June 1, I checked the website and it showed that my current package was about $235 (which is about right with all taxes, fees, equipment, etc) but if I switched to Ultimate TV it would be $18 less, so it would be about $217. I was happy to go through the online process to save that money and get my channels back. Once I got through the process, before I accepted everything, it let me estimate the taxes and fees. When I did that it showed my price would go back to about $235. I was unhappy that before it was apparently comparing my full bill price with a price without taxes and fees and hid the taxes and fees until the end. However the price was still acceptable and I would be getting my channels back so I accepted everything. Then about 5-10 minutes later I get an email that said my estimated full bill will be $248.96 ($12 more than I previously paid and about $32 more than the original quote of $217). I was very unhappy with that but it was an estimate and I figured the real bill may be better.

So then on June 22 (after the deadline to cancel changes), I get an email with the real bill and it says my real bill price this month is $269.70. This price included -$2.68 discount for plan change which means next month's bill will be about $272 (This is a $55.38 MORE than the original quoted price!).

Today:

I went to my local Verizon store today and politely explained all of this. They confirmed my price would be $272 going forward. They were polite but they were unable to do anything other than offer to change me to the "new" plans with the 300Mbps+Most TV+phone package but the price would still be about $272. My brother, who lives on the same street gets this package (exact same equipment boxes as me) and he has been paying $234/mo so this $272 offer was not acceptable. They said they couldn't really help me because I was on the "old" plans and tried to hook me up with a verizon phone representative to help. The call wait time was an hour. The music in the store was way too loud and it was 97 degrees outside so I really had no where to go even if I waited a whole hour to talk to someone.

So here I am a victim. The verizon website was successful with its tricks and I have no solution from Verizon. Does the CFPB still exist? Xfinity is offering me $236.48 for a similar plan. Or I could switch to Hulu Live or Youtube TV to save some money. What should I do? Is there anyone from Verizon that reads these things that could give me the original quoted price?
