Getting monthly charged after returning the 5G router

Got the trial for a 5G router in late March. I wasn't satisfied with the speed so I returned it at the beginning of April, which was within the 30-day free return period. However, I kept getting messages saying that I got a bill in my account. Today that I received an email saying the same thing. Can anyone help me solve this?

I saw someone had the same issue 2 years ago.  Exact same problem...

Hi wwc1058. I want to make sure you were able to get the bill/charge addressed. I saw recently you have contacted us about some return equipment. I am sending you a private message and we will continue from where you left off.

Still working on it. An agent promised to reach out again on Wednesday as she escalated my case yesterday.

Did Verizon ever send you confirmation that they received the router?  Because I'm wondering if either the package was lost or someone never processed the equipment return correctly, causing a "non-returned equipment charge" to be assessed.
