Help - Verizon has destroyed my son's credit while he was serving overseas

My son is an active-duty army sergeant.   In 3/14/2020,  he entered into contract with Verizon Wireless from his military base Verizon Kiosk.  A few months later he was issued military orders to Italy where he would not be able to use his Verizon service.  He contacted Verizon and Verizon suspended his service due to military service relocation under their military relocation clause.  He received confirmation via email from Verizon Wireless that his service was suspended on 10/28/2020 for a maximum of 3 years and 90 days, or until he requested activation.  His balance was paid in full, and his phone lease was paid in full; therefore, he had a zero balance on his account.  Up until 08/16/21 his account balance was $0.  On 08/23/2021, Verizon activated his account without his knowledge or confirmation.  Verizon began billing the account that was supposed to be on a military suspension until October of 2023 or until he requested activation.  He was still currently stationed in Italy and was unaware that he was being billed by Verizon and did not give his consent to activate the SIM card or his account.  Verizon continued to bill him without his knowledge and eventually sent him to collections, again without his knowledge.  His military service overseas ended on 08/30/2023.  When he got home, he realized that he was sent to collections when he read the collections notice that was sent to his “home of record” in the U.S.  He called Verizon Wireless to explain what happened and they refused to correct the error or reverse the collections charge.  He also contacted the collections agency and filed a claim with both Verizon and the Collections agency.  This is causing him huge financial hardship!  He's been on the phone with Verizon for many hours and they still say they can't help him.    This is not how you treat military members!
