ID.me discount error message

I just set up Fios in my house for the first time and was surprised to receive a bill that didn't reflect my first responder discount, which I was assured would be present for my first bill. As many other users have complained about, I've verified my first responder status through ID.me but I'm receiving an error message when I go through the Verizon website's instructions to link ID.me to my Verizon account. The error message reads: "Thank you for your service. We are unable to verify your eligibility, but you can still order these services or learn more to check eligibility for a discount through the Verizon Connections program, which offers discounts to employees of companies enrolled in this program."
I spent over an hour on the phone with a Fios support rep who was unable to directly help me. ID.me has already verified my eligibility. What's up with Verizon's inability to do the same, and how soon can you fix it?

It won't verify my Veteran status through the Verizon methods either - but in ID.ME, it does perfectly. Something is wrong with their system and nobody knows how to fix it. Did you ever get help?
