Lied to about bill

On January 4, 2023 my husband and I decided to trade our phones for the new Z Fold 4. I went to Verizon store to see how much it would be. I wasn't planning on getting new phone unless bill would not increase that much. Verizon rep ran the numbers, my current bill was $253 for 4 lines. He came back with 3 options, all of which were less than current bill, so of course I said YES. I specifically asked him if this was for the entire bill, and he said yes. Needless to say when first bill comes it is $366! I have called and chatted to no avail, I even sent Verizon a copy of the estimated monthly bill I was given, in store I was only shown amounts on a I-pad.  How can these salesmen be allowed to LIE, this is almost like the old "Bait and Switch". I have tried numerous times to just return my phone, but of course now it is too late. I told them in the store if my bill was going to go up too much, I would just get one phone(my husbands was due for upgrade). Now since I was lied to, I am stuck with a $366 bill, that I can't afford. Also in with the upgrade took both phone lines to a higher plan, that now I cannot change or the bill will be even higher because that was part of the DEAL! There should be some type of repercussions on the salesmen for this type of behavior, oh and to top that off, I had to transfer and set up both phones myself sitting on a bench in the store because they were too busy! I was also charged for that! I don't know about anybody else, but we work very hard for our money, and this was just WRONG. This is an unethical business practice that needs to be addressed! So of course I am still trying to go above all the customer service people that either never answer back or just randomly leave the chat!

I have spoke with multiple reps to be told ,sorry there is nothing we can do. I even asked to return one of the phones, no out of time! The salesman was just trying to make a sale.

I just had a similar problem like others here. Verizon salesman just blatantly lies every single time, I’ve been a customer for 10+ years. I recently just switched to their phone plan and they gave me eight iPhone 12’s because I’ve been a loyal customer, which I just had to pay the taxes for and 8 lines for $20 each. Now they’re trying to charge us retail for all the phones and “ $40 per line,” some of the numbers on the plan are being charged $45 or $50. My bill is now coming out to $800 something. What are you guys running? Salesman cons you into thinking you’re paying $20 per line, then they send you the actual bill which is astronomically higher, they you call them because you were just robbed, but any and everyone who answers says they can’t do anything and now you’re stuck. I’m not letting this slide. Y’all gotta fix this one way or another.

We would love to take a look at your account to figure out where this miscommunication came from. You could theoretically get down to $20 per line with Welcome Unlimited, so let's find out how this applies to your situation. Please reach out to us in a Private Note.

Im very unhappy with Verizon right now and looking to switch service. In March we decided to look into the “free upgrade” to iPhone 14 for my husband. We were on the unlimited over 55 plan. When I called I was told we qualified and could get the upgrade without increasing our monthly payment. After getting reassurance by two reps, one of them a supervisor we agreed to the trade in. I was told and texted our new bill would be $85 and change, down from $137. We made it clear we did not want the trade if there was any increase at all. We were told no and we’d still be on the same plan but because of “loyalty credits” our bill would be reduced. We’ve been withVZ over 20 years. Just got our bill and found out they changed our plan. Now bill is $157 and they tell me there’s nothing they can do for me. I was also told my old plan is no longer available. Beware the Verizon lying, cheating rip offs. That’s what you get for your loyalty. A kick in the pants. I’m disgusted ugh!
