I was wondering how this situation would work. I am on a plan with my father and his phone is paid off, mine still has monthly installments. I am looking to switch to AT&T on my own plan and want to keep my number, however I was going to give him my current phone IP14PM and trade in his old one IP12.
Will the monthly payments on my IP14PM stay on the account or is it connected to my phone line specifically?
When I transfer my phone number with the balance of the phone be due or can the monthly installments stay on the account itself?
Is this possible and am I missing anything? Ultimately the unused line would be terminated.
Hello, jdoe777, thanks for reaching out in reference to your device payment. I understand you will be looking to move to your own line with another carrier. In that instance, your device payment agreement would end and your remaining balance will be billed to the account.
