New Bill After Cancelation

I stopped my internet service from August 23rd, 2024. Verizon told me I owed them two routers, one from the initial address I started the service, the other from the new address I moved to. However, I brought the initial router when I moved. It took me 20 hours to call Verizon number and explain the situation. They said their engineers were very busy taking care of everything and asked me to wait till the number fixed. At the very end, one supervisor from the bill or tech department said she removed one router from my account and asked me to return the router I have, and told me all is done.

I got the bill for the period 8/[phone number removed per the Verizon Terms of Service]/11 and I have already paid it in full. I don't know whether Verizon is refunding prorate. I didn't get any.

I got a new bill today for the period 9/[phone number removed per the Verizon Terms of Service]/11. The bill is even $10 higher than previous months. How could I get a new bill 20 days after canceling the service? I have no service with Verizon now. I tried to log into my Verizon account and looked at the service. However, there was an error when I clicked the plan or equipment.

I am exhausted contacting Verizon. They can only be reached by phone. I have to restate my situation again and again after transferred. And there is no way to explain the whole details and keep some records without using emails. They would easily deny what they said and transferred me again. I have the email confirmation for service cancelation and a paper receipt for the router return. Can I ignore the new bill? What is the result if I don't contact them to fix it?
