19 days ago, my card and bank account were charged $1,014 more than our typical monthly bill (was signed up for autopayment for the monthly discount). I called when I noticed a few days later, because our bank account was over drafted. I noticed then on my MyVerizon app that our last bill was over $3000 and that there were two new numbers on our account that had already been deactivated. I was not notified of fraud on our account, but when I called about this overpayment issue I was told that someone had in fact hacked my account and added two lines and the fraud dept caught it and "fixed the issue" and "took the amount related to fraud off of the bill" but they did the math wrong and left the $1,014. It took 6 people and 1.5 hours for someone to figure out what I was saying and make a report for a refund of this money back my bank acct. I was told it would take up to 5 business days to get a refund. At that 5 day mark I called again because I didn't see it. I was told it would be 24-48 hours before I would see the refund. I gave it 2 business days (5 days total) and called back when it wasn't refunded. I was sent to the fraud dept and told the credit will be on my account, not back on my card/bank account, within two business cycles. I need the money in my bank account, where it was taken from and overdrafted my account. I asked for a supervisor or someone else to make a complaint and ask for something to be expedited and was told the supervisor will tell me the same thing and there's no one else to talk to. My bank is saying the dispute I made could take up to 90 days. I'm stuck and am planning to cancel my verizon account and get a new phone provider once this is handled but afraid to do so now in the fear I'll never see that $1000 again if I close my account.
