So I paid off 50% of my iPhone and was qualified for an early upgrade which is what i did and returned the iPhone, I currently have my upgraded phone and started a new phone agreement am I still responsible for the iPhone remaining balance? Will i be able to upgrade to another phone or switch carriers if I pay off my current phone agreement?

If you completed an early upgrade, and returned your phone in good working condition as part of the agreement, you will not be responsible for the remaining balance, as the return of the phone will satisfy that.
