I had Verizon Fios a few years ago and they reported a balance of $337 to the credit bureau. I don't even know what it was for. They sent it to an outside collection agency who told me if I paid it, they would remove it from my report. I paid it and the outside agency did remove it from my credit but Verizon is still reporting to the credit bureaus that I have a balance of $337! I called Verizon and they connected me to the outside agency who said "yeah, we removed that". I have disputed the charge a few times and the credit bureau still has not removed it. I will be reporting Verizon to the Better Business Bureau for their unlawful reporting behavior. I will never use Verizon again and I will share my story with every person I know. I am disgusted that Verizon sets out to destroy people's credit even after the payment has been made. It is unacceptable behavior and should not be tolerated!
