Once my auto pay has been declined I try to pay my bill the very next day with the only card I have on file and it says I need a new payment method. How do I bypass this and use the same payment method to pay my bill I now owe a late fee And A reconnection fee

Hi, unfortunately, if an autopay is declined for some reason, you won't be allowed to use autopay for 6 months. I personally feel that if it was a one time thing, you should get a little leeway, but I've got no say in the rules. You will have to use the one-time bill pay site for the next few months until the system lets you sign back up for autopay, or pay your bill in person at a corporate Verizon store.

Is there a reason why you don't want to add another payment method?

They didn't say they didn't have another payment method. They just said they didn't have another payment method on file. Most of the time, I only have one payment method on file as any that I have added and don't use for six months gets dropped from the system.
