My bill shows paid but I didn’t have money to actually pay it. How was my bill paid? Or was it added to next month’s balance? I would like to pay this month’s due instead of paying for 2 months worth next month.

I'd check with your bank as to what happened. The system probably just sent you an automated response when it tried to process your autopay, but if there were insufficient funds, then it would have bounced, which I think you get notified for after the fact. Try using the one-time bill pay site to pay, as autopay gets cancelled and you can't sign back up for 6 months if a payment is declined.
