Good afternoon, I just got my bill for two “Go Unlimited” plans and each plan increased in price $5.95. I had read about approximately a $3.00 increase per? What gives?

Hi @IH784 & @NachoRose ,
Beginning 8/29/23, each mobile phone line on certain older phone plans will be charged an added $3 or $5/per line per month Plan Rate Adjustment. Lines with tablets, smart watches and other devices won’t be impacted.
Only the following older Verizon plans will be charged the Plan Rate Adjustment. Starting 8/29/23, these plans will see an added charge of $3/month per mobile phone line:
- Go Unlimited 2.0
- Beyond Unlimited 2.0
- Above Unlimited
- 5G Start
Starting 8/29/23, this plan will see an added charge of $5/month per mobile phone line per month:
- Single Basic Phone.

I am unable to find the answer to this plan rate adjustment.
An added $3 ? why is it saying $6 ?
Please customer service reach out to me ASAP as I am considering switching providers over this.
Also, I did a trade-in promo when I got my phone and I am pretty sure they didn't utilize that in my bill. I don't appreciate the deceitfulness I've been continually experiencing with Verizon Wireless.

I just noticed an additional $6.00/mo. added to my bill. From reading the information about this increase, Verizon states a $3.00 per line increase will be added to older phone plans. I have only one device/phone line so why am I being charged $6? I also think it’s unconscionable and possibly illegal to charge people extra for not upgrading to a higher cost plan. I’m a single, senior citizen with limited resources, trying to keep my monthly expenses low.

I started with Verizon unlimited and my plan increased as well without me changing services. I have four lines of service, plus home internet, and home phone and am considering canceling for this illegal charge when my plan indicates it wouldn’t be changed.

I’ve had the same problem, I started with Verizon Unlimited and was told my plan wouldn’t change. I don’t want to change my plan since I’ve always had the same plan and don’t need to upgrade to something more expensive.

Seems like we are all having this problem where we were told our plan will stay the same but is getting charged for an additional cost for having an “outdated” phone. My wife and I have been with Verizon for all I can remember but these ridiculous charges are making us want to change providers.

This is a pretty horrible policy adding additional fees to our bills! You say the rate won't change, and you charge more by adding fees! Pretty bad business practices! Time to look at T-Mobile!

I know how important costs are for me and my family, and the last thing I would want to see is for you to leave us, Pooonverizon. There is likely some value and savings for moving to our newer plans, and I would be happy to make sure you're on the best plan to meet your needs. Since I'll need account access to help, please be on the lookout for a private message from me.

I have the Go Unlimited Loyalty plan and was told my rate would not change. I noticed a $4/month “plan rate adjustment” on my bill. I also noticed my $10/month credit for autopay was reduced to $5/month. Neither of these changes were communicated to me, even though Verizon can seamless communicate promotions. As a loyal customer who has never missed a payment, I am very disappointed.
