One of the first bills you pay when opening a new Verizon line is the month-in-advance service fee (Isn’t that the very definition of PREpaid?) Looking at the number of posts- some with disastrous results (large sums of cards/money bought by a well-intentioned grandmother for example) - and the cards (which often contain a great big Verizon symbol - but small-font disclaimer tucked in a corner of “Prepaid only” - all make Verizon’s position on this seem very weak and extremely anti-consumer, pro-company profit. Yes- I’m another victim, grabbed the card on haste to defray added expenses of an international call plan for my traveling son. But based on everything on reading- it cannot be used by me because I do NOT have a Verizon prepaid phone account, nor can it be returned. IF THIS IS STILL THE CASE - can anyone share what they did to at least try to mitigate the loss? Did you find a safe place to sell it? Is there a charity to which it can be donated? Any shlyers or hospitals or such that accept these? (They have a limited time span once activated so I feel like I need to act quickly.) Or did you just let it tragically expire? Looking for any way possibly to even semi-redeem $100- either personally or for the good of other humanity.

Wanted to clarify my post: “Any SHELTERS or hospitals” accepting these cards.
