Price increased by 10% for no reason

My bill went up 10% (from 39.99 to 44.99) for no reason. Verizon's call rep, Brett, pretended this is normal and told me I can't get a better deal anywhere else. Blamed it on me for having "an older plan" - I think that was his way of thanking me for being a loyal customer.
I've had the 300mbps plan with autopay (49.99-10=39.99) for less than two years. This same deal is still offered by Verizon to new customers. For 39.99, Spectrum offers a better deal of 500mbps in my area (Brooklyn).
I don't really want to deal with the hassle of changing providers.
