Recently I had to purchase an iPhone to replace and iPhone that was lost on my plan. As soon as I hung up the phone with Verizon to buy the new phone my aunt called and told me she found her phone. I called Verizon back immediately and tried to cancel the order. They told me they couldn’t cancel it and it’s been shipped. So they said I would get refunded as soon as I returned the phone when I received it. So the day I received the phone which I never opened I returned it that day. Verizon received the phone and in an email they explained where it was received the order number The refund amounts etc etc that was on 12-20-23. I received the refund of 37.93 but the refund of $669.99 has yet to be refunded. I have called 8 different times and I have 8 different ticket numbers and every time they tell me I will see my refund in 3-4 days. Now today 1-19-24 almost one month later I call again and they say they can’t refund me they can only credit my account. Which is NOT WHAT the email states the email states I will get refunded and not an account credit. This is bad business on Verizon’s behalf and I feel as I need an attorney now to deal with this issue. I have been a loyal customer for 13 years and this is the service I receive. So either way with the new phone or not they want to keep my money. Yes I know I have to make payments anyway and a credit is the same thing. But at this point it is now the principle and since they dragged it out so long and strung me along now they want to keep my money which I refuse to let happen. So as it stands I still don’t have my money and I am seriously considering leaving Verizon over this issue. I will be contacting the BBB and I will be letting all my social media fiends know about this as well. Enough is enough they got their money when they asked for it for the new phone now the new phone was no longer needed and I have to jump through hoops to TRY and get my money back. Terrible business on Verizon’s end I am disgusted over this whole situation. I just want my refund that they clearly stated I’d be getting in an email THEY sent me

If you placed the purchase on a credit card, reach out to your card issuer. You are protected by features that a credit card provides.
If it was placed using a debit card, still contact your bank, however, the protections that are afforded a credit card are not the same for a debit. You are at the mercy of the financial institution.
Next time, do not even accept the package, refuse it for return to sender. Makes it a bit easier.
