Jan-March 2024 Verizon Wireless processed mailed check payments by converting the check to electronic check and therefore processed through ACH in a day or two. Starting April 2024 Verizon Wireless changed payment processing- they now must physically get these mailed checks to their bank , Mellon Bank of NY and process them- which is like you cashing a personal check - takes 7-10 business days, especially as most customer checks are out of state. “April” stated my bank changed the way they process Verizon Wireless checks and not done electronically as of April. Not so as verified by my bank. End result- collection of many late fees by Verizon Wireless.
