An unauthorized charge of $263.15 was taken out of my bank account on 1/11/2024. My bill is due on the 20th of every month, and had just been paid on 12/29. I paid a late fee as it was past due. I am NOT signed up for automatic payments. My account is now overdrawn and a couple of transactions were not paid because of NSF. Customer service representatives initially said it would take 3 to 5 business days to get the charges reversed. I explained that was unacceptable as they had no authorization to take any money out of my account, and my bill wasn't even due until the 20th. After arguing for approximately an hour, I was told it would be reversed in 24 to 48 hours. When it wasn't I called again, to be told 10 days, and finally given a promise date of 1/22. Still nothing. Called again and was furious when told the countdown started all over again. Does anyone know who I can contact, beyond and above customer service? I've been a customer for 11 years... please I'm desperate.

Hello, SHBBBP. My apologies to hear of this as you definitely deserve some answers regarding the status of the money in question. May I ask, was this based on auto payments? What was the charge for? Please share details.

Were you ever able to get this resolved? We have now spent probably 30 hours talking to Verizon trying to get our money back for the same issue. FIVE payments were taken directly out of our bank account totaling $976.65, (an account that isnโt even associated with our Verizon bill) . Verizon knows whose account the money was credited to (and gave us the name) and admitted this person is a current customer. Verizon refuses to credit us the money despite clearly knowing and acknowledging that this is fraudulent activity. I can not understand why they canโt go after the person who used OUR money to pay THEIR bill. Maybe it was an innocent mistake, maybe it was criminal theft, but either way they refuse to give us our money back and are allowing this current customer to keep it.
Our bank will not intervene because they say that Verizon received the money - it wasnโt stolen - and that Verizon is responsible for paying it back. Six months later we can not get any resolution.

I cancelled my Verizon account because I was moving to a new apartment that had a contract with Xfinity services so I got a great deal. I owed Verizon money and I was going to set up a payment arrangement to pay down what I owed. Well today, Verizon charged my account, overdrafted my account and...get this...deleted my access to my Verizon profile. This doesn't seem legal and I am going to investigate it. I took screenshots.

We're sorry to read about the situation with your account and we want to help. Is this a wireless or home internet account? ~Peter
