Warning to consumers: Verizon utilizes deceptive pricing tactics and refuses to stand by their quote!!!!!!!
We signed up for a Verizon Fios Triple Play bundle this past November (2011) after speaking with a telephone sales representative.
We have now learned how we have been totally scammed by the price quoted to us versus the price we are being charged. We were told the representative was "mistaken" in the quote and we were just offered $10/month less off our monthly bill, OR, we could reduce the bundle that was offered to us. They must be kidding!
We have just spent a total of 1.75 hours on the phone attempting to get this major issue resolved.
Unfortunately, we could not. We asked to speak with a supervisor and was told one would call us back within the next 48 hours!....WHAT???? Is this what Verizon calls great customer service?
Not only were the total monthly charges reflected in our bill off in a major way, we also found they charged us activation fees. It was clearly explained to us this charge would be waived as we were new customers. Verizon was very sneaky in breaking down this charge over a 3 month billing cycle, perhaps in the hope that we wouldn't notice it?
They also included features we had never requested, nor was ever mentioned to us during the order process.
For example, unpublished telephone number, wire maintenance plan, etc.
Not only has this happened to us but a famiy member had installation a day before us and they have experienced the same issues.
More importantly and disturbing, the Internet is flooded with page after page of consumer complaints with these same issues. Furthermore, at least 2 states I have found so far, has brought law suits against Verizon by the state's attorney generals for deceptive practices.
WILL A SUPERVISOR CONTACT US NOW???????????????????????????????????
