My 81 year old mother and her 81 year old boyfriend were on a mobile plan together. Her boyfriend has dementia and lost his phone twice. Each time he lost his phone, the sales team at the Plymouth MA affiliate store convinced them to upgrade both phones. My mom was sharp and cheap so they had to have done a good job convincing her it was cost effective. Long story short, her boyfriend lost his phone this past December and they went in to get him a phone. They walked out with 2 iPhones. They've always had galaxy and had no idea how to use these phones. They returned them within the 2 week window on 12/14. My mom passed away on 12/22. When my sister and I went to the store in January (after getting a $400 invoice) we found out the store never returned the iPhones. There were 6 lines, 4 ghost lines on the bill. We spent the afternoon there, were told to take the iPhones with us and we'd get shipping labels for 5 phones they wanted back. Whatever, fine. The labels never came. We talked to a real Verizon store and it went to 4 phones, labels are coming. It's now March. No labels and we now have an $800 bill. Now they want 1 phone and for us to pay them for the "service" for the iPhones, $300, that the store factory reset back in Dec. This affiliate store sold 4 phones to two 81 year olds in 2 weeks. They needed 1 phone. That's predatory salesmanship.
