Verizon deletes my autopay information

I'm here to complain after spending over an hour on the phone again with various Verizon people that usually can not help.

For the second time in the last two years, Verizon deletes my autopoay information with no notification then proceeds to bill me a late fee.    The associated system message is:      

The bank account and/or credit card information previously saved on your account has been removed due to a system change. Please re-enter the information in order to make your payment. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Verizon will occasionally apologize, but allows the same issues to keep returning.
