Verizon says they haven't received my router, but I sent it back.

Hello,

I keep receiving emails from Verizon saying that they haven't received my old router, but we put it in the box with the rest of the old equipment (as they directed) that they did receive. I used online chat, and he said that he would fix it on my account so that I wouldn't be charged for the old router, but I am being charged. Please advise.
