This is a very urgent matter!! I recently received an email from a collection agency of unpaid Verizon dues of $204.91. I am also in the process of getting a mortgage for a home I am purchasing. My mortgage lender informed me that my credit score has dropped by 101 at such a crucial time due to this non-payment.
I had zero contact from Verizon (by email/ mail / phone call or text) to inform me there was a pending balance on an account (which is currently closed). I transferred 2 lines from another carrier to Verizon in Jan 2023 after I applied through a promotional offer. I was sent a bill of $246 even before activation of the line which I paid in full on Jan 9th. On Jan 10th my lines were activated but the promotional offer was not activated. They then cancelled my previous account and reopened a new one with the promotional offer.
I am an active Verizon Fios and Wireless customer and currently have a credit of >$700 in my wireless account which could have been used to pay off any pending charges but instead of doing that or at least informing me they directly informed the credit bureau and sent it to the collection agency. I have at this time paid off the delinquent charge and after calling them over days and hours, they will give me a "paid in full" letter but they are unable to delete it off my record, which will basically take 7 years to clear off. They said this is the best they can do and the credit bureaus will report it in 30-60 days (the paid in full, not deleted record)
This has caused me so much mental anguish with different reps giving me different advice, with the last one telling me this is the "dead end I have reached". Any help will be appreciated! Time is of essence here!

I'm sorry to hear this has effected your credit score. I hope you are able to get the charge removed from your credit report. Any credit report issues like this are best handled by the credit reporting agency. You would want to reach out to them to see how you can dispute the charge. -Joe

It has not been taken off. Verizon says they are "unable to get it off" due to their policy. I have even sent a letter to the CEO of Verizon since I have very limited time. Verizon says all they can do is inform the credit bureau and let them change it which can take 30-60 days. Even then it will be a "paid" not "deleted or taken off the record".

We understand the importance of getting it resolved as soon as possible and would like to take a closer look. I'll be sending you a Private Note, so we can get started.
