"Free" ipad accompanying my iphone purchase

How do I make a claim for a refund for monthly charges for an ipad that I didn't want?  When I purchased an iphone 15+ at my local Verizon store, the sales person said I automatically get an Apple ipad 10.2.  I said I didn't want an ipad.  I'm an older woman who barely knows how to work a phone or computer.  The sales person said "But it's free and you may want to give it to your kid or something."  So I took the ipad.  After a couple months I noticed that I was being charged $104.47 per month.  I looked at my account online and saw it was to provide wifi for the ipad -- which I never even took out of the box!  I took it back to the store and the manager told me it was too late to return it.  He also told me 1)  we don’t have a manager at this store; and 2) we told you that you would have to pay for internet service for the ipad.  When I said I wasn’t told any such thing, he said yes you were because that’s how we do things here and you should learn to read the small print on the invoice.  He told me he couldn’t help me.   Do I have any recourse other than to keep paying $104.47 forever?    I want to return the ipad (in pristine condition) and I want a refund for all those months of internet for the ipad that I did not use.  Will Verizon make this right?  Who should I talk to?
