what is the point of a ticket number?

I had to open up a "payment investigation" because verizon incorrectly charged me $500 for my trade in even though I sent in my old phone. I was given a ticket number but cannot find where I can use it to check the status of the investigation. Am I able to use it? If not then what is the point of receiving one?

Also, I keep receiving text messages saying there is an update on my support request but when I go to look on my account, there is no update and I'm being told they need more info but won't say what is needed? This has been an ongoing issue for weeks now and I would really like to get my refund and move on.

I see that many people are having similar issues and it's kind of gross how difficult Verizon is being when it comes to helping their customers get proper care and making sure we get our money back when we're incorrectly charged. Tired of them trying to credit me when I wasn't supposed to pay in the first place.

ezerbean, I'm sorry that there's been issues trying to clear this up. I sent a Private Message, so I can help take a look at this with you, and work on getting things resolved.

I have had the same issue for 2 months now. Iโ€™ve called Verizon back several times and each time the representatives said they submitted a ticket and would call me back. No one has ever called back. They also temporarily resolved and refunded me, then surprised me a month later with a charge for the $600 . And we have auto pay set up so we almost missed the surprise billing. Very sneaky of them to tell me it was resolved and refunded and then charge us again without our knowledge . Sadly the representatives all sound very genuine and apologetic, but theyโ€™ve all been the same and have never followed up or responded.

Same, I have payment investigation numbers but it take me to Verizon to sign in. However there is no account to log in. The orders were set up and never placed under any account number. They were also canceled without request. .I was given an account number that isn't active either. Smh I have investigation numbers for the refunds for the orders that were canceled but never refunded. I just want to see what is going on. Mainly because the last ticket number they gave me was showing "resolved" without actually being resolved
