I let my battery drain completely dead on my phone last night, plugged it in to charge and then this morning tried to turn it on. It starts up goes all the way through the software verification, shows my homescreen for about 1/2 a second and then the screen goes white and says App Error: 523 and reset. When I click on reset the screen just goes blank. I've restarted it 3 times and taken the battery out 3 times. I've ONLY had this phone for 2 or 3 months!!!

The error code 523 is a dreaded code for a Blackberry. Somehow, the operating system (OS) has become corrupt, possible from an application. To recover from this error, you will need to wipe your Blackberry and reinstall the OS. You will need a computer with Blackberry Desktop Manager installed and about an hour. You will also need to have the latest OS from Verizon for your device, which can be downloaded from their download page at http://forums.crackberry.com/f5/error-523-reset-1831/ .
