Availabilty of BB 9630 and Wi Fi

The constant conversation on Crackberry is release date of Blackberry 9630 ( Niagra) and will it have wi-fi? What is the importance of this feature as everyone seems up in arms with Verizon and the possibility it won't be on phone. Information is appreciated as that will be my next phone. Loyal VZW customer 15 years.

Wi-Fi is a good thing to have for a couple of reasons. Say if you live or work in an area where there isn't very good EVDO coverage you can still connect via WiFi to get your data (web,email..etc). So it's really convienent if you work in a huge office building and theres no coverage indoors.. you can still get data. Also WiFi is a lot faster than the EVDO network so pages are going to load a lot quicker.

 

The downside to WiFi is that it drains your battery life quicker than anything else on the phone. So it's a bit of a trade off.

 

The Blackberry "Niagra" 9630 will NOT have WiFi. Unfortunate yes. I do wish VZW would release a WiFi capable Blackberry. I think that would make it the perfect phone.
