BB Curve freezing and not deleting FB in email

Hi

A few weeks ago my curve started freezing-kind of.  I could scroll to my icons on the front but they wouldn't open.  This continues frequently now and only fixes when I take out my battery. I shouldn't have to keep taking my battery out. Also my emails from BB won't delete.  I went to a Verizon store and he rebooted and then deleted FB and then reinstalled it.  Iy then deleted all messges but 3.  Now those 3 are gone but I have a whole bunch of new and Old (and the old were previously deleted) messages that won't delete. The tech said it might be between FB and my phone.  I don't want a refurbished phone but I don't know what else to do. HELP

I have had the same problem with FB. The solution is to open FB and push BB menu button then untik every box that is tiked but the last 2. They should be tiked . That should solve the email BB notices that wouldn't delete. You also should clear cache in FB under options. Also when FB is open in the upper left click notices go thru and delete each notice. You can keep one finger on the first one very lightly and touch all the rest under the first one then delete and delete all at the same time same with Emails.

Well let's do one thing at a time the FB emails. Push the FB Icon opening FB. Now push the BB Menu button the one with paw prints on it. Now scroll down to options within the BB Menu and push in on options now scroll down thru the list in FB and unchek every box that has an arrow in it. Make sure the last two boxes have an arrow checked in them. Now push the BB Menu again and select save in that list. Then close FB and to your email and see if the FB emails are gone. Post back to let us know you were successful.

Why did the verizon tech say it was my phone when you fixed it quickly?

Mine does the same thing!!!  They sent a replacement phone, and it did not help.  The problem is with the software somehow.  The phone also freezes if I send a photo to Facebook.  Very frustrating having to pull the battery 6 and 7 times a day!!!

What model BB and OS? Some OS's have battery drain. Do you know about making sure you close every app you open. All that should be open full time are phone,Internet Browser, Home, and Email. You find out what is open by pushing the BB Menu button and scroll down the list that is showing and select Switch Application this will show every app that is open drawing battery and memory.

Good I knew you could do it. Now next time you have FB open push the BB Menu again and then Options again and near the bottom of the list is a Clear Cache, push that and depending on how much you use FB you need to Clear Cache. I do it every day. Now another memory booster is to push web Icon and then once it is open push BB Menu and Options again then come down to cache. Then push cache and clear all the settings that are in there. Then push BB Menu to back your way out.

So far so good, I am waiting for it to freeze when I upload a pic to FB but don't have anything to upload, maybe I'll do a trial.  AT least the FM not deleting from my email is solved. If I  may ask what is cache?

I have 110 MB of free application memory.  I cleared the FB cache and the browser cache. The phone still freezes up every time I send a photo to Facebook.  I'm at my wit's end!

Sometimes you have to delete the app causing trouble as in this case FB. Once deleted pull bat. then reinstall FB and pull bat. before opening FB. If that does not fix it then contact FB help or contact link and see if they have any idea? One other thing could be pic too large or in wrong format JPG is ok but there are others and you may on your computer right click and change format or open in a pic software change program like MS Paint and be sure pic is in JPG format and if it is covering your whole computer screen reduce the size. Just some ideas.

110 MB of available memory?

You either push the Icon in the Switch apps or on Home page then BB Menu when menu opens scroll to very bottom to last line which says close, push close and it will. Do this for each app you have open except the ones that have to stay open. When this is all done pull battery. Once it starts again push Options (wrench) scroll down to Memory click it then scroll until you see application memory Free Space. You need at least 13 to 14 MB of free space or things will freeze.

There is also a Memory clearing App that is listed under the memory that gives you the option of moving it to your Home page which I have done and it clears some other memory settings that need clearing. I do all these after every WEB link.

Think of a large bucket that holds a memory of where you go in the web. It keeps adding to it everytime you access a web link so if you go back there is quicker recall. You have the same on your computer only usually you have a larger cache on a computer. So you need to dump the cache. When it has a lot tied up then opening other apps need memory to work but if there isn't enough memory then the app slows down or freezes. I had mine get so bogged down it gave me a choice of which apps to delete. My memory was down to 2 or 3MB. I now have 25MB of free memory so I can go longer now before having to clear or do a Battery Pull.
