Backlight Timeout

Ok just noticed this yesterday, my backlight timeout is set for 10 seconds on my 8330. The screen will turnoff, but flash back on a few seconds later. I pushed 4.5 last week. Any idea on why this is happening?

Well, I'm not an 8330 user however I have thumbed through them a time or two. Let me ask if you have installed a different theme? That might be adding an addition command to your backlight sequence. I'm currently running a storm with a theme I purchased third party. The theme is called Storm Today Hidden Plus. I have the backlight set for 30 sec time out. This setting does work correctly. I have seen that if I leave my screen on my application list as it is beginning to ramp down the backlight, the sequence will go all the way until the backlight is completely off however the backlight will activate briefly and my home screen will take the place of the application screen and the sequence starts to ramp down again yet it does not take the full 30 seconds to complete the cycle. When I touch the screen again, my home screen is always showing first now.

If I switch to the default theme installed from VZW, these actions do not happen in that fashion. What ever the screen is on last will be the screen that ramps the backlight down. In contrast, what the screen was on last will be the screen I will see upon activation.

I'm chalking this one up to being theme controlled.

Hope this helps...
