I just got the BB Curve 9330 less than a week ago, out of the box i let it get down to an empty battery and then charged it up, the battery was awful, it was discharging 5-10% overnight. I went to the store, they gave me a new battery and that didnt help and so they gave me a new device, and this one the battery life is even worse! Using the web for 10 minutes draws the battery by 10 to 15%! The whole battery with light use (A couple texts and light emailing and maybe 1 or 2 calls) and it lasts me no more than 12 hours. THIS IS TERRIBLE. What can I do to get a phone and/or battery that actually last me atleast a day?! I have never experianced such a poor phone before. I really don't want to go back to the store AGAIN, i think they think I am crazy.

Hi,
Sorry you are not getting the battery performance that you would like. I have a few tips for getting a little extra performance from you device.
Tips for improving battery performance
- Make sure you are running the latest official OS for your device.
- Turn off Bluetooth and WiFi connection when you are not using them.
- Adjust the screen backlight. Set the backlight to turn off after a short, say 30 second, period of inactivity.
- Make sure apps are not running in the background that use GPS, such as BB Maps, VZNavigator, etc.
- Make sure you update your PRL (Preferred Roaming List). While in your home area, from your device, dial *228 and select option 1. Allow 1 minute for the update to take place. This will ensure your device is not switching back and forth looking for a strong 3G signal.
Hope this helps,

I have tried all of these things, i do use meterberry which tells me the rate of discharge, and its telling me that its discharging at the rate of 7.6% every hour. This is awful.
My system is up to date.
Wifi is off.
I have full bars in my area.
and screen brightness is down.
I dont even use it that much.

Christina,
I agree with LCromwell. I will send you a Private Message here in the forums to give you more information about leaks. There are a few official OS updates from other carriers that will work great too.

Would you send me the same thing? My new Blackberry Curve 9330 is using 10-15% battery power per hour. I've been at the Verizon Store for the last 3 days. Checked that latest OS was current; all is well with Verizon; replaced battery; still using 10-15% battery power per hour. I'm going back to store tonight to ask for new phone. I'm not sure what else to troubleshoot.

I have a Blackberry Curve 3390 my issue is that I'll charge the battery up overnight and by morning I'll have "only" one battery bar I have been to my local Verizon store several times regarding this issue, only to be told that the their Total Equipment Insurance which I pay $7 a month does not cover the battery well I told them the phone isn't even three months old I also told them that I will not pay the next months bill until this is settled.

Here are some tips that the staff over at BBTweaks came up with to extend battery life, after you resolve all the OS & 3rd party app battery draining issues:

How do I do this OS update? I did all the turning down of resources but the battery is draining quickly...
