You first have to set up a WiFi connection to wireless router network and be in proximity to the range of whatever network you are having Wifi log into. Also make sure Wifi is showing up on your screen. in order to use Wifi: 1)Go to Manage Connections which looks like a tower radiating a signal. 2)Select Set-up WiFi network and go through the options there.
That should help give you a start.

Here is some additional information that may be helpful.
Step 1. – If you are not trying to connect via WiFi, ensure that it is off. I have provided the instruction below:
http://search.vzw.com/?do=viewdoc&id=33191
*** - If you are trying to use WiFi, ensure that it is on and proceed to the steps on setting up a WiFi connection listed in the article above.
Step 2. – Assuming that you don’t want to use WiFi, I would check to see if you are getting a valid data connection.
***If you are getting a data connection you should have a 3G (with four little dots after it) on the top right-hand corner. (WiFi would have to be turned off)
***If you are not getting the data connection indication, skip to the Final Step option further below:
Step 3 – If you are getting the 3G (with four dots after), I would send a registration message, and complete a soft reset. (I have provided the instructions below)
http://search.vzw.com/?do=viewdoc&id=15842
Final Step – Perform a soft reset (pulling the battery out for a few seconds, and inserting it back in)
Instructions given below:

***A fair number of Blackberry issues can be solved by a soft reset.
I hope this helps.
