Blackberry, Internet, Laptop

Hello! I don't know if anyone else does this. But I have Blackberry Storm and have a laptop. Now for me to get on the internet I hook up my Storm to my laptop to get the internet on it. Now when I got a phone call and was trying to do things over then computer still everything went slow. Can I not be on the phone and on the computer internet at the same time?
