Blackberry Pearl 8130 text feature with Garmin

The text feature using Bluetooth will not work with my Garmin 885T. Verizon, Blackberry, and Garmin have no reasonable explanation why this is other than to say some phones will not work. I am trying to find out what phone Verizon has that will work with Garmin to send text messages through the Garmin.  All other Bluetooth functions work very well. Any help appreciated.
