We bought one for my son in July of 2010.  It cost somewhere around $140.  It is in great condition, almost brand new.  He loves it.  Refurbs are the way to go if you don't want to renew or extend your contract.  Call customer service 1.800.922.0204 and they will be able to help you with pricing in your area.
