Data Plan + BlackBerry

Hey all,

I have a really simple question. I am getting  a BlackBerry Storm for a new job I will be getting soon. I don't need the data plan as of right now, but I will need it when I start my new job. Is there a way I can get a BlackBerry but NOT sign up for the data plan? At least for a little while?

I've read various places that it's required, but I've also read various places that in some circumstances it is not.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Ryan

It's required when you activate the phone. No getting around it.

Well then, is there a way to cancel the data plan after activating it or anything?

Seems silly that I'll be paying for something I won't be using, regardless of the BlackBerry's main use.

The data plan is required. You can't remove it without deactiving the phone. It is silly, so you might as well start using it.

Having had my Storm about 5 weeks now, I am thinking 29.95 is pretty cheap for all the data use I get from this thing.

$30 for all the SMS, MMS, Web Browsing, and Email you can do is pretty good i think.  Take advantage of it.
