Data Plan Questions

I have just purchased a Blackberry Curve and got the $29.99 unlimited data and e-mail plan. I also got a text message bundle. I have a few specific questions and I hope someone can answer them for me.

When I send or receive an e-mail does that count as a text message?

IM's sent through AIM are they counted as text messages?

Messages sent on Blackberry Messenger are they counted as text messages or data?

When I got on the facebook app, are all the posts counted as text messages or data?

I also am having trouble receiving notifications from the facebook app. Does anyone know how to fix that?

Thank you everyone for your help! :smileyhappy:

BlackBerry Messenger and email use data.  I'm not sure about the others.

Only an actual SMS message will count towards your text allowance. Blackberry messanger or any instant message program will use your data plan. Facebook also uses your data plan, not text.

Unlimited data=unlimited text by the way...if i'm not mistaken so you shouldn't really be keeping track of anything as that $30 is pretty much a coveral for sms, mms, email,IM, and internet.

Correction, Justin. Unlimited data does not equal unlimited text. The Blackberry data plan only covers unlimited web browsing and emails. Messaging is a seperate cost.

Right

250 texts are $5.00/month

500 texts/unlimited verizon to verizon is $10.00/month
