Told by whom? This is not correct. You can download some apps that allow you to access internet radio. Some terrestrial radio stations have internet streams that you can listen to also. But the Curve doesn't have an FM radio receiver.

Google moodio.fm. I have the moodio page bookmarked in my browser. You can select "your" stations and they will show up on the page on your BlackBerry when you log in.
You can also download iheartradio, which has real radio stations. Then there are Pandora and Slacker (apps to download) which are internet radio and not necessarily stations you would hear on your FM radio. All of these are free.

Slacker and iheartradio are two of the best out there.

There are applications in the Blackberry App World that you can download to listen to the radio. One that I downloaded was called "Radio Companion"
