Google Maps starts and runs OK, but I can't turn it off. The Menu button brings up a pop-up menu with Cancel, Switch Application, and Show Keyboard choices, but no Close or Exit.
Any suggestions? It is Version 4.5.3 running on the BlackBerry Torch 9850 with OS7.
I can definitely understand how odd that could be to not be able to quit an application. I have Google Maps on my Torch and this is the way I close the app. In the app I go to>menu>exit. It’s pretty simple. If you are not getting the exit option I would uninstall the app and reinstall it. The step for that process is as follows: Go to Options>Device>Application Management and delete it. I hope this helps. Thanks.
Thanks for your note.
When I pressed the Menu button, I only got Cancel, Show Keyboard, and Switch Applications as choices. Removing and reinstalling didn't make a difference.
It was suggested to me to download Google Maps directly from Google to avoid any filtering or corruption.
I uninstalled it, and will decide how to reinstall it if I find that I actually need it. BlackBerry Maps, so far, has fit my needs.
I suspect that, like other apps I have researched, they have not yet updated Google Maps to work on the Torch 9850 with only virtual keyboards and OS7. If it works on yours, count yourself lucky.
