HBM-710 Headset

I have a Blackbery 8830 and have just located a headset (HBM-710). Both Verizon. In trying to pair them up I am asked for a PIN. I don't remember the PIN that was set up long ago. Have been told to use 0000 but it does not work. I get the mesage"Unable to pair with HBM-710". Any suggestions would be appreciated!
