Help! Problems after downloading OS7.1.0.755

Enthusiast - Level 1

Hi - I downloaded OS7.1 Bundle 2123 v 7.1.0.755 Platform 5.1.0.553 OTA.

Ever since, none of my applications work (whatsapp/viber) and my BBM is missing.

How do I roll back to my previous version of the OS or how do I fix the current version to make sure everything works a-okay again?!

Thanks all!

Good morning tttlow,

Thank you for sharing your wireless concern with the community! The Blackberry OS 7.1 is a wonderful new operating system with some amazing enhancements. Like most OS updates, there may be an app conflict after installation. In such a case, I suggest uninstalling the app(s), reboot, the device, and reinstall the apps onto the BB Bold. Once you have done so then please retest the apps for functionality.

Should you decide that you decide that you do want to go back to a previous blackberry OS then this change can be made on a computer using the blackberry desktop manager. If you do not have this software installed on your computer then here's a link to get this program.

Once you select your model blackberry from the drop down menu then there will be a link for the desktop software and steps on how to install it at the bottom of the page. If you have any additional questions or concerns then feel free to reply to this message.

Thank you...

How do you "uninstall the app", if you downloaded it directly onto the BBerry (Bold 9930) - not from BBerry Desktop Manager, but directly from the prompt given me on the wireless device itself? Now I've been in limbo (like other users I've read about online) for 24 hours, and the software update seems clearly frozen, stuck at 1% progress, or 3% progress. I've taken the battery out several times and rebooted - to no avail. It simply starts again immediately with the update when it boots up.  When I try to synch the device to the BBerry Desktop Manager, it won't synch, saying there's something wrong with the device.

This is very frustrating. i've been with BBerry for a long time now, but the product just seems to get worse with time. This is my third 9930 device in appx 12 months to go bad. Is this fixable? Please help. Thanks.

Hello JMGrace07,

Thank you for the reply! We certainly don’t want you to be in limbo with your blackberry Bold 9930. It truly is a great device and we want to get the most usage out of it. Here’s a link on how to uninstall an app from your blackberry.
