Outlook 2003 database needs to be recovered From Blackberry Curve 8330 / Verizon. It needs to be downloaded to Office 2000. The Office 2000 is on a Toshiba Windows Vista 32 Bit. The Blackberry Desktop Manager is in a hand on a CD.

What exactly are you trying to do?

"Outook 2003" does not reside on a BlackBerry of any variety.

"What kind of "database are you trying to "recover"?

Some sort of email data?

BlackBerry contacts?

Something else?

Outlook 2003 files were lost by a fake tech support person. Now I am at on

Windows 365. The task is to Outlook 2003 contacts from BlackBerry curve,

the only place they reside, downloaded to a old laptol. That laptop is

Vista 32 bit with Office 2000. The Blackberry software is also on the old

laptop. This is the only way to get clean contact information. The Vista

laptop will be used exclusively for reference. Also I may download them to

Excel to work with them. Thank you for your help.

To clarify the problem I was using the BlackBerry to sync a laptop and desk

top. With both of them having lost the files, the last source is the

Blackberry Curve.

Some suggestions.

1. Use the BlackBerry Desktop Software to make a Full Backup of the phone.  (Do this first in case the other steps don't work.)  Make note of where the backup file is saved.

2. Use the BlackBerry Desktop Software to sync to Outlook on the new computer.  Make sure that you set it to have the phone data override the computer data.

3. If number 2 does not work, look on the internet for software called MagicBerry and use it to open the backup file that you created in number 1.  Convert or export the contacts to a format that Outlook can use.  CSV will likely be your best option.

4. If the BlackBerry is being used actively, it is a good idea to do a full backup weekly.
