May be going to St. Maarten for a week, later this year. How do I shut off my e-mail and data so I can avoid roaming charges? Also, do I need an international calling plan to make/receive calls while I'm away? I have a Blackberry Curve 9330. Thanks for your help.

You need to call VZW to have international services added to your device BEFORE leaving to make calls.
As for data, there should be an option on the device to shut down the data stream. I do not know how to do it on a BB though. But I know someone will help you.
Have a great trip!

Hello everrob,
I LOVE St. Maarten! I'm feeling a little jealous here, too.
It's a pretty simple step to disabling data and data roaming on your Blackberry Curve 9330 device. This is found in the Mobile Network section of the Options menu. I am including a link with instructions for disabling these features here. I'm also including a link to our Global Services that gives rates for international and roaming rates globally here.
I hope I've answered your questions & concerns. Have a fun and safe trip!

Thank you, Anthony. We'll be sure to have one for you on St. Maarten!
