I'm leaving Sprint. Storm vs. iPhone vs. G1

Alright so I am leaving sprint because they seem to be pretty behind the times, and I have been with them ever since my first phone. I am having a terrible time choosing phones and would like some honest opinions.

The storm is the most expensive. They charge more per minute, and their wireless plan costs $15 more than AT&T, and $25 more than t-mobile (after factoring in texting). I really wish this website would let me put blackberry's on a family plan, because I am going to be on a plan with my parents who don't use the internet or text.

At first glance, I would rate the phones are far as usability as Storm then iPhone then G1. This is because my friend owns a storm and apparently he is the envy of all the iPhone users in his IT class. A lot of my friends have iPhones, and they are good, but I kind of want something different than everybody else. After reading these forums for a little bit it seems pretty clear that the storm is like an awful phone, but my friend has pretty much no problems at all. I know a ton about computers and will have absolutely no problem installing new operating systems, cracking it, or whatever (basically doing whatever I have to do to get it to work). What I am saying is if I can make the storm better than the iPhone, then I'd rather have a storm even if it takes a lot of work.

If I could just throw a storm with unlimited data and texts on a family plan that just has minutes on this website I probably would have already made the purchase. If the only fix to the storm is a new update, and it seems to never be coming, I am probably just going to get an iPhone. I have never even met someone around here who has t-mobile which is why I am hesitant to get it, plus I haven't heard of them having like 3G or anything.

Can I get some opinions? I am upgrading like this weekend (I don't have time to wait for the "Storm 2" or the new G phone, which looks sick might I add). Here are my overall assumptions.

Price: G1 > iPhone > Storm

Awesome when works: Storm > iPhone > G1

Bugs: iPhone > G1 > Storm

ORRRR I can stay with sprint and get the Palm Pre that is coming out in 9 days with 4g.
