ICON THAT LOOKS LIKE A TAPE AT TOP OF DISPLAY

WHAT IS THE TAPE LIKE ICON AT THE TOP MIDDLE OF THE DISPLAY SCREEN...IT WAS NOT THERE WHEN I FIRST GOT IT...BUT IT HAS SUDDENLY APPEARED...CAN ANYONE ADVISE ME PLEASE?!

YEAH THAT IS WHAT EVERYONE KEEPS SAYING...BUT NO VOICE MAILS...EVEN CLEARED SAVED MSGS JUST TO SEE IF IT WOULD GO AWAY??/

With the phone on completely remove the battery on put it back in. This should remove that notification

I DID THAT BEFORE...BUT JUST TO MAKE SURE I JUST DID IT AGAIN...WOW THIS THING TAKES FOREVER TO COME BACK ON...AND THAT POP UP I GET ABOUT THE TRACKBALL I KEEP HITTING REMIND ME LATER...WHAT EXACTLY SHOULD I DO WITH THAT...OH YEAH AND IT IS STILL THERE Smiley Sad...COULD BE ANY OTHER TYPE OF RECORDING...I TRIED THE VOICE RECORDINGS...NOTHING WAS THERE...ALL THE THINGS ON MY CALENDAR HAVE BEEN CKED...?
