I hope this is the right forum.
I got my wife a Blackberry Pearl a few months ago and she HATES it! Heck, I even hate it and I don't use it.... the interface is confusing, the controls are annoying and it is extremely difficult to find how to change even the simplest of settings. So I want to get her a new phone that is NOT a Blackerry and deactivate the Pearl.
If I do deactivate the phone completely, can I cancel the Data Plan that was required at activtion or is that now part of the two-year contract term?

Once you activate a new phone the Pearl will be deactivated and the data plan will automatically be removed. You won't need to make a request, it will happen by itself once you activate a more basic phone.
Blackberry's aren't for everyone.
Good luck.
